We are deeply saddened to confirm that Jackie Robinson, co-owner of the Golden Hind passed away in January 2017 from a head tumour.

Jackie’s dream was to ‘live by the seaside’ and she succeeded. She loved living in the bay and contributing to Brixham's success. With her work on the Golden Hind Museum Ship, she had already made a huge impact, and we know that she would have done far, far more.

ALL charity donations made on the ship in 2017, and ALL other contributions will be given to the following causes, which we know that Jackie would have been pleased to support:

1 ROWCROFT HOSPICE – Jackie and the family were supported by the specialist 'Hospice at Home' team, based at the famous Torquay Hospice. They look after more than 2000 people annually.
2 BRIGHTER BRIXHAM - Donations towards flowers, furniture, plaques, benches, lights, painting, cleaning up and any other physical, permanent improvements to the seaside town in which Jackie spent the last five years of her life and which she loved.
3 PRIDE IN BRIXHAM. Funding for the volunteer group who have already created so many beautiful gardens out of unused spaces in Brixham.
4 BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH. The only national brain tumour charity dedicated purely to funding scientific research into all types of brain tumour.

ALL funds donated will be distributed in their entirety, in line with the above, one quarter to each of the above causes. Details and dates of all charity donations shall be listed on this page.
